Total Mail Upgrade Expected to Improve System Stability
We had lately been experiencing slight issues with our Total Mail servers, but we wanted to let everyone know that we have found a solution that is guaranteed to restore the convenience of our dispatch process. Total Mail is the server that provides communication from our TMW dispatch system with our driver’s PeopleNet devices in their trucks. Before this issue was resolved we had a few instances where the system would restart unannounced. We have now fully updated the system

Customer Highlight: Beck’s Hybrids
According to farmers, planting season is starting again soon. In light of planting season we wanted to highlight Beck’s Hybrids, one of our valued customers and notorious seed retailer. We are expecting to see a large increase in freight from Beck’s Hybrids during this planting season. Beck’s Hybrids is a national seed retailer chain, which is reported to be the largest family owned retail seed company in the United States. The company has grown remarkably over the past decad

PSA: Perform Proper Pre-Trip Inspection
We had a truck and trailer that caught on fire earlier this week. Both the truck and the trailer were completely totaled in the flames. This is a reminder for everyone to remember to do their pre-trip inspections. We asked Greg Sullivan, Senior Truck Technician to investigate what the root cause of the flames were. He says, “Basically we think that there might have been grease on the tire or brake. As the brake got heated over time, the bearing probably went bad and the oil o

Extended Tour Program
We are proud to introduce our new Extended Tour Program. The program gives drivers the option of staying out on the road two weeks at a time while earning a higher pay rate. This means your will be out on the road 14 days at a time. During their 2 or 3 week

Proper Process of Scaling Load
I just wanted to talk about the importance of scaling a load. Whenever you are at a shipper it is always good to scale your load to make sure your load is legal. Some drivers may think they can slide their tandems, and mistakenly believe that their weight is not that heavy. So they end up skipping the scaling process. If you are not legal, you need to go back to the shipper to make sure that they have you at legal weight before you take off with that load. If you were to get

Fleet Changes: New Roles and What It Means For You
Wanted to announce that Amy Graven has been promoted to Owner Operator Program Manager. Aleta Crouch is also assisting Amy in managing the program and helping produce growth. The reason we are making these changes is to grow our Owner Operator Program and give our owner operators and board carriers a more personalized experience. Amy Graven’s role was previously to provide oversight to all our driver mangers, who were assigned a pool of drivers. We decided that Amy was the be

Proper Trailer Coupling
Properly coupling a trailer can seem like one of the most basic components of trucking, but that also makes it quite easy to overlook. We wanted to make sure that our drivers were reminded to always confirm that your trailer is coupled properly to your truck before taking off. One of our drivers recently had the unfortunate experience of dropping a trailer as soon as he left the customer lot. Without performing the proper procedure, this driver wrongfully assumed that the tra

Drivers are the Best Ambassadors for Customer Leads
Our drivers are a great asset to the company not only in terms of service but also expansion. Since our drivers are out on the road, they act as our company’s eyes in the playing field. We are always looking for our drivers to provide new business leads to expand our company. We hope that every driver acts as an ambassador for new business, so we are producing a personal brochure handout for drivers to hand out to potential customers. Since we want our drivers to be as profes

Crock Pot Solution: Eating Home Cooked Meals While on the Road
It’s no secret that eating frequently at truck stops can be a large expense. With meals costing anywhere between $10-15 at trucks stops, buying two hot meals can cost up to $30 in a day. Eating two meals a day for a week can end up costing you $200 weekly. We were talking to Ed Goad, one of our driver trainers, about his frugal eating habits, and we found that Ed was spending only $35 a week to feed himself and his trainee home cooked meals for the entire week. He had come up
